Call for Proposals
The SRS is currently accepting abstract submissions for SRS 2022. Submissions are being accepted for individual oral paper presentations, poster presentations, symposia/workshops, and data blitz/flash talks. Abstracts are limited to 250 words. We welcome submissions from all researchers and especially encourage submissions from early career researchers (undergraduate/graduate students, research assistants, postdoctoral fellows) and from those of minoritized populations. This event will be an excellent opportunity for you to showcase your research and connect with other researchers in the field!
Proposals will be reviewed by experts in the field and considered for presentation based on the following criteria:
1. Quality of ideas and theoretical background/grounding
2. Quality of methods, approach, and analysis
3. Quality of interpretations and conclusions
4. Originality
Types of Presentations
Oral/Paper Presentation - Oral presentations on papers that report on original research (based on the collection and analysis of data), theory testing or applications, or a review and synthesis of research. Each paper will be allotted approximately 15 minutes in total, including both presentation and questions. Accepted papers will be scheduled alongside three other oral/paper presentations focused on a related topic.
Poster Presentation - Posters that report on original research (based on the collection and analysis of data), theory testing or applications, or a review and synthesis of research. Posters will be scheduled as part of a larger 60-minute poster session that allows for the interactive discussion of materials with colleagues and attendees.
Data Blitz/Flash Talk - Quick oral presentations of ongoing or completed research. Presenters will be allowed one slide and 3 minutes to present their work in a larger session with other data blitz/flash talk presenters.
Symposium/Workshop - Consists of 3-4 speakers and a discussant who present multiple perspectives about a research topic within suicidology. Each speaker should report on original research (based on the collection and analysis of data), theory testing or applications, or provide a review and synthesis of existing research. Symposia will be scheduled for 60 minutes.
Please note, the deadline for submissions has been extended to February 15, 2022, at 11:59 PM PST. No late submissions will be accepted. Please review all submission requirements carefully, as all proposals must follow guidelines and be submitted online to receive full consideration.
